Hello!  I am Catherine and I am is a self taught embroiderer and wordsmith. Most of my work centers around red, hand-embroidered text which I use to tell a story, share poetry, or convey a shared experience.  

Some pieces incorporate my childhood memories growing up in the 1970’s, each hand stitched in vintage Sylko red thread, as a nod to the red rose of my home county of Lancashire.

I like to share my work and often create pieces for competitions and exhibitions in many different locations - across the UK,  and worldwide including New York, Germany, Switzerland, Ukraine, Brazil, Bulgaria and Australia.  I have also been very fortunate in winning a number of awards as a result of this.

One of my pieces is also part of a permanent collection in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, England.
