About this workshop
Learn new skills and enjoy a day of slow stitching.
This workshop is best suited to individuals with some sewing experience, ensuring they can get the most out of the class.
The act of repairing worn or damaged cloth often involves the traditional technique of darning. In this workshop, I will share some of my darning samplers and guide you through a variety of hand‑stitched methods, celebrating the textures and patterns that can be created with just a simple needle and thread. During the class, we’ll explore different needle and thread options, experiment with sampler layout and design, and look at ways to experiment and evolve your stitching techniques to make the work your own.
On a piece of plain cloth, you will create a sampler to explore a variety of darning techniques, which you can continue to develop at home.
Cloth, thread, needle, and paper resources required are included in the cost of the workshop.
The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm with a break for lunch.
